It’s always a little sad when a beloved holiday ends, but Melanie has a plan to keep Halloween going just a little longer …or at least, the candy collection part of it!
If you could take one notable thing (or more) from a holiday and combine it with another, what would it be? Would you combine Christmas trees with Valentine’s Day (and make them pink or white)? Would you combine Easter baskets with New Years and fill them with things you’d use in the new year (like stickers and stationery)?
Text version of today's comic for screen readers
Panel 1: Andrea and Melanie have colorful jackets on and Melanie has a sad look on her face.
Melanie: "I miss Halloween already. What if we extended it another month or two?"
Panel 2: The panel shows two scenes: one with Melanie collecting candy inside a store while Kay is snacking on a cookie behind the counter, and the second one shows Melanie wearing a colorful holiday outfit and collecting candy in a Christmas stocking. There are christmas decorations around her and an older lady at the door is handing her a candy cane. The older woman is wearing a festive Christmas cat sweater, and Mr. Sprinkles is glaring at Melanie from the bushes.
Melanie: "We could go store-to-store and collect candy while shopping for Black Friday sales! We could go caroling door-to-door for Christmas treats!"
Panel 3: Andrea has a questioning look on her face as Melanie excitedly explains her vision for future holidays.
Melanie: "And on New Year's Eve, we could go door-to-door and wish people a Happy New Year in exchange for candy!"
Panel 4: Andrea looks a little disappointed while Melanie has an excited expression."
Andrea: "Melanie, you're just adding Trick-or-Treat to more holidays."
Melanie: "Exactly!"
