Sometimes all you need is an app to help you get what you want.
Back in the 90's, if you wanted to accomplish the same thing as Melanie, you had to use a Game Boy with the volume all the way up or a musical watch (that probably featured a licensed character). The downside of the watch was that if you were in class, the person sitting near you could just reach over and activate it, leaving you powerless to turn off the music.
